Dr. Ritvik Mehta M.D.
Dr. Ritvik Mehta received his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He then went on to Harvard Medical School where he completed his internship in General Surgery and residency in Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery. While at Harvard, he developed his interest in treating patients with facial paralysis. Recognizing the profound impact that facial paralysis has on the lives of those affected, Dr. Mehta chose to pursue advanced training in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery / Facial Nerve Disorders during his fellowship at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary / Harvard Medical School. He then went on to complete a second fellowship in Otology / Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. Dr. Mehta is truly a compassionate and caring physician who has a deep interest in providing the best possible care for his patients. He has co-authored numerous publications and was the recipient of the American Neurotology Society Trainee Award for his middle-ear research. Dr. Mehta is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He is a professional member in the American Academy of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery, American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, International Otopathology Society (Schuknecht Society), and the American Neurotology Society.

Finally, Dr. Mehta is a true humanitarian. He volunteers his personal time to participate in two amazing non-profit organizations developed to afford children with the medical and/or surgical care they require, but cannot afford. He is passionate about giving these children a better quality of life.

Sara L. Mattson AuD, CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Sara Mattson is fully licensed by the state of California and certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association to provide comprehensive audiological services. Dr. Mattson earned both her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders and her Master of Arts degree in Audiology at San Diego State University. She was awarded her Doctorate in Audiology by the University of Florida.
Her prior clinical, academic, and research experiences at Shohet Ear Associates Medical Group, Inc. and the University of California, San Diego provided an in depth and diverse background in all aspects of audiology. Sara is a compassionate hearing healthcare provider that enjoys helping a patient obtain a better quality of life through a patient-centered approach. Her special interests are:
Dr. Mattson is an expert in the management of patients suffering from tinnitus and/or hyperacusis. She was trained by the world-famous Dr. Pawel Jastreboff on implementation of Tinnitus Retraining Therapy. She was one of the first Audiologists in the United States to be trained on the Neuromonics Tinnitus Therapy. Dr. Mattson has presented several lectures and seminars to both colleagues and tinnitus sufferers about tinnitus and tinnitus management.
Her other special roles include serving as adjunct faculty to San Diego State University and guest lecturer to University of California, San Diego. She works closely with the faculty of the Joint Doctoral Program in Audiology offered by the two aforementioned universities to facilitate the education and mentorship of up and coming Doctors of Audiology.
She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), American Speech-Hearing-Language Association (ASHA), California Academy of Audiology (CAA), and American Tinnitus Association.
